Alan L. Weiner
Alan Weiner brings over 30 years of experience as a Senior Workout Executive and Investment Banker to Focus Management Group, where he serves as a Senior Managing Director. Alan has significant experience in providing management leadership to healthcare and real estate companies. Alan is adept at managing complex cases and quickly assessing strategic alternatives, including sales transactions. Alan is able to work with clients, lenders, and investors to develop turnaround and restructuring strategies.
Alan currently serves as the lead on a Receivership of an automotive parts distributor business in which Focus is the named Receiver. In addition, he is also the named Receiver for a company in the land clearing and disaster recovery business. Prior to these engagements, Alan served as the Chief Restructuring Officer of a marketing and advertising company dealing with significant revenue changes and management issues through the point in time in which the company was able to pay off its senior lender group in full. Alan has also recently served as CRO for a real estate/mortgage services company operating throughout the country and guided the company through a successful sale process. Services of this company were provided to traditional lenders, as well as to the Department of Housing and Urban Development under governmental contracts procured with HUD.

His recent engagements include serving as the Receiver of an FDA regulated 503(b) medical compounding company, Financial Advisor to the Receiver of 65 skilled nursing facilities operating in six states with responsibility for all operations during a successful divestiture process, Financial Advisor to the debtors in the bankruptcies and divestiture of 34 skilled nursing facility operating entities, and Financial Advisor to the 74 related, non-debtor nursing facility operating entities associated with the 34 facilities in bankruptcy. All of these nursing facilities operating under Medicare and Medicaid governmental contracts.

He has also served as the Financial Advisor to the Receiver of a neurological rehabilitation (transitional living and skilled nursing) facility, interim-Chief Financial Officer of a medical billing company, and Financial Advisor to an automotive dealership in a Chapter 11 case where he was responsible for managing the sale process using a successful 363 approach.
Alan was the Financial Advisor to the Liquidating Trustee and, subsequently, President of the reorganized operating company owning and operating apartment complexes (totaling 14,000 apartment units) throughout the southwestern United States. In this role he was responsible for the disposition of the portfolio of properties and advising of the Liquidating Trustee with respect to litigation matters.

He has worked with and directed entities ranging from small start-ups to established, publicly owned companies. Throughout these engagements, Alan has managed and executed successful turnaround, divestiture, and litigation strategies. Further, Alan has worked with numerous borrowers, lenders, and other stakeholders on matters relating to challenging operating and financial situations.

Alan began his career at Raymond James and spent 15 years as Managing Director in its Investment Banking Department. He left Raymond James to serve as Executive Vice President for Dermatology Partners, a physician practice management company. He subsequently served as Executive Vice President, then Co-Chief Executive Officer for Arthur Rutenberg Homes, the country’s largest franchisor of independently owned and operated building companies, for the six years leading up to his joining Focus.

Alan holds an MBA with a concentration in Finance from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and received his BS with High Honors in Computer and Information Sciences from the University of Florida. He served on the Board of Auditz, LLC, a healthcare revenue cycle management company, until its successful sale in June 2016, and he served on the Board and as Vice Chairman of the Board of the City of Tampa General Employees’ Pension Fund for seven years. Alan also served as President of Congregation Schaarai Zedek.
