Michael Doland is a capable business leader with 40 plus years of experience in financial and operational management. Focus Management Group promoted Michael from Chief Financial Officer to Chief Operating Officer in 2012. In this role he provides operational support and guidance for FMG, human resource management, and financial accounting and controls. He manages the FMG back office teams to ensure the consultants in the field are receiving the necessary support.

In addition to Michael’s role at FMG, he and his team provide accounting support for FMG’s receivership and ABC roles, including bank accounts, reconciliations and weekly and final reporting, and he provides assistance in managing the complexity of those engagements. 

 

Prior to working at FMG, Michael served as Controller, Human Resource Manager and Accountant for various companies. Michael’s financial management experience includes development of a computerized pricing matrix for custom manufactured products, implementation of a multi-location computer accounting system for a retail organization and preparation a financial business plan for a vendor sponsored inventory retention program that yielded a $220,000 savings to the company. Michael responsibilities also included daily cash management, credit and collections for domestic and international customers and forecasting of funding requirements. Additionally, he served as Senior Auditor on numerous audit engagements, encompassing government, retail and pension clients.

 

Michael also has a strong background in business operations. In a prior role, he managed the RFP process for a computer integration company specializing in wireless data fur the public safety sector. He oversaw the preparation of the job costing schedules, contract preparation, administration, and the procurement department. As a Human Resource Manager, Mike held benefit administration responsibilities and developed a complete HR Manual incorporating updated policies and procedures. He is trained DFT manufacturing and was previously a Certified Kolbe Specialist.

 

Michael graduated Cum Laude from Youngstown State University with a B.S. in Accounting. Previously, he taught Cost Accounting & Taxation at the East Liverpool branch of Kent State University.
